The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) World Conference in 2010 will be held in Dublin and will be located at Citywest Hotel and Conference Centre. A delegation from the National Aero Club attended the recent 2009 conference in Saint Vincent in the Aosta Valley in Northern Italy and made a successful presentation and bid to host the 2010 Conference in Dublin. The delegation was headed by NACI President, Tom McCormack along with Terry Rowan, FAI Vice President/Companion of Honour and Dara Hogan NACI Financial Director. Delegates from over 80 countries attended the conference and were successfully lobbied by the Irish delegation and the final vote, in favour of Ireland, was 196 votes against 36 for Croatia, the only other competing country. The NACI team was supported by Terri Cullinane from Conference Partners who will event manage the conference in 2010. The Irish Aviation Authority, Failte Ireland, the Mansfield Group and a number of private aviation supporters agreed to financially support the conference which was the impetus and incentive for the NACI to bid for the 2010 conference. The National Aero Club is proud to host this prestigious event which was last hosted by Ireland in 1973. The 2009 Conference will be held in South Korea next October.
