Flying Sites Instructions
(You need to be a member and logged-in to use this service.)

Welcome to the IHPA Flying Sites Guide!  Use your mouse to click and drag the map around, scroll to zoom and change the scale, and switch between 'map', 'terrain', 'satellite', or a mixture of renderings in the usual GoogleMaps way.

Click on the 'North, South, East, West' links to show only those sites that are flyable in those wind directions. Note that the default map shows only the sites that are flyable in the prevailing wind at the time of viewing - the website uses the METAR report for Dublin airport to determine the current wind direction.

You can add or remove an overlay showing all the controlled airspace in Ireland - very useful for planning those XC flights! Note that this feature is best used in GoogleEarth on your own PC or laptop where you will also be able to tilt the view to see the vertical extent of controlled airspace.

Clicking on any of the site markers will bring up the details for that site, including photos and safety notices. You can even add your own photos and comments to any site guide to bring it up to date with the latest local information.

If you would like a printed copy of a site guide then just click on the print icon in the site information box - you'll even get the current map view!

Please report any errors or new sites to the IHPA Sites Officer

Enjoy!
