Learn to Paraglide

The IHPA does not provide training directly. If you want to learn to paraglide, you will need to go to a training school. They can provide you with a weekend introductory course that will allow you get your first few short flights and introduce you to the excitement of paragliding under safe conditions.


Irish Paragliding Centre

Paragliding training in the Dublin area is available from Fred Lahiff's training school (phone: 087 258 9245, website at www.paraglideadventure.com). Fred's school is based near Bray, Co. Wicklow, but training may take place at any one of a number of locations around the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains, depending on the wind direction on the day. Mark Dunne - Tandem Air Experience Instructor

Mark Dunne is able to offer an exciting introduction to the sport with limited instruction. Mark is a qualified BHPA Tandem Air Experience Instructor and is licenced to take up passengers and give them the experience of controlling the wing for themselves under his instruction and watchful eye. Under Mark’s current Air Experience Instructor Rating he does not offer full training from the ground up. Visit Mark's website www.freefly.ie for full details.


Tandem Flights in Ireland

If you are serious about taking up paragliding and would like to get a taste of what it is all about then you should contact either Fred Lahiff, Mark Dunne, Jason Killian or Dave Donnelly who are Tandem Paraglider Pilots and can take passengers flying. Fred, Mark, Jason and Dave offer this service as private individuals and on the strict understanding that they may not be held liable for damages in the event of an accident. If you wish to take a tandem flight, you do so expressly at your own risk.
