Tomorrow It will be a generally cloudy day on Thursday with patches of rain, drizzle and fog. However many places will be mostly dry and it will be a very mild day with highest temperatures well above the average; generally 12 to 14 degrees but up to 16 degrees to the lee of high ground with fresh southwesterly winds.

Outlook:
Outlook Thursday night will be mild with outbreaks of rain. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees. Friday will start off cloudy with rain or drizzle in many areas. However the rain will gradually clear to the southeast with brighter, drier weather following. It will become cooler and less humid with afternoon temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees. Friday night will be cold with clear spells and with frost developing in many areas. Saturday will be mainly dry with bright or sunny spells, the best of these in Munster and Leinster. It will be cloudier in Connacht and Ulster with some light rain or drizzle developing towards evening. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with some patchy rain or drizzle, but with a good deal of dry weather too. There'll be some rain at times in the early days of next week, mainly in Connacht and Ulster. Amounts should be fairly small. Over the weekend and the early days of next week, winds will be mostly moderate southwesterly. Daytime temperatures will range from about 9 to 12 degrees. Many of the nights will be frost-free, but there will be some frost in places.

NB: This weather station is located in the valley behind the westerly car park (on the road leading up from Bunclody) and is in a wind shadow in certain directions. Consequently, wind speed and direction data for northerly and westerly directions are to be taken with a pinch of salt! Consult the IHPA weather station on Mt. Leinster for accurate wind speed and history.

A very useful website is Eirgrid's graph of the total wind power generation. The gaphs give you a good idea of what the winds are like at hill top height.

By following the trends you can see if the winds are increasing of decreasing. Anything over 400MW indicates that its blown out on the east coast.
