Powered Aluminum Dragon (Part 2) 08 Nov 2020 02:26 #1297

I have not been posting here much because my thread is really screwed up however you can see the latest progress here
www.homebuiltairplanes.com/forums/thread...uminum-dragon.24732/

go to the last page to see where I am at now.

The short version is I had to quit my load test of the wing at 40% because of severe oil can deformation of the aluminum LE.

I am adding Z stiffeners to the LE. ....and it probably will be all winter as there are a lot of rivets.

Load test new wheel....4G is 1600 lb....580 psi which represents 1300 lb (580x2.25 sq in ram) which I was happy with and another click of the jack would have put me way over, and I did not want to go to recycle center to find another wheel if I broke it.
that rope is 1/4 Spectra with a breaking strength of 6600 lb
