TOPIC:

pressure distribution on a wing and rib loads 11 Dec 2013 01:47 #658

So, it's easy enough to calculate the load on the spar as we know that the weight of the aircraft has to equal the load on the wing (static equilibrium). However, If I remember correctly, the pressure is higher in the front (thus the 35% location for the spar. I guess it would make sense if the load forward of the spar equaled the load aft (or at least the moments should match, no?). I'm trying to calculate the load on the ribs, but that would be a function of the pressure distribution. Anyone able to shed any light on that?
